Grandpa would stand on the end of the bed and assured us repeatedly, “I’ll catch you. Just jump sweetheart. I’ll be here. Look my arms are almost touching you now. Now jump.” Eventually, each one of us did jump. And our grandpa was there to catch us every time.
Captivatingly after our first successful jump, each of us had the very same reaction. “Do it again, grandpa! Do it again!” Off we would go to hurried to the side of the bed and run to the edge. Without hesitation we would jump and giggle with glee as grandpa caught us and swung us around in victory of our daring feat.
I think that’s the way it is with taking spiritual leaps of faith as well.
What has God been calling you to the edge of lately?
Have you heard Him cheer you on with full assurance that He’ll be right there?
and his strong voice echos
Jump, sweetheart, jump.

This is so true. Anytime and everytime we fall, we are sure to rise up again and the very fact that we do rise, is an assurity from god that we wont ever let anything go out of hand. It just happens to us over and over again to test our patience and make us even more stronger.

Leaps and bounds! He’s calling me to mentor the next generation and I am so excited but it feels like I’m jumping out of an airplane and you know how I feel about flying.

Last night he called me to jump out of selfishness and into giving-of-self and yes, I was caught! Caught with the blessing of engaging in the lives of others, loving them, sharing with them! Good stuff!
